Visits & Payments
The first visit is for a psychiatric evaluation. The charge is $400. Plan on being here for 1 to 2 hours. Routine followup visits are $125. The charge for 30 minute sessions is $200. The charge for 60 minute psychotherapy is $310.
This is a private pay practice, by which we mean that we are not able to bill insurance for payment. Payment is expected at the time of each treatment visit. You can make payment in cash, checking card, debit card, VISA or Mastercard. We will provide you a statement for the purpose of filing a claim for reimbursement or for you to keep for income tax purposes.
The easiest and fastest way of getting a refill of your medications is by calling your pharmacy directly and requesting a refill. They will then contact us for approval of your request.
It is important, in general, not to stop your medicine abruptly. This means that you will have to anticipate your need for refills in advance so there is enough time to process your request.
Getting refills of your medication should not be turned into an emergency because you did not plan in advance. Estimate when you will run out of medication and give your pharmacy 3 days to contact us and get your prescription filled.
If your insurance company wants “prior authorization,” it means that they require information from us indicating why your medicine is necessary and why they should pay for it. It may take up to 72 hours for them to approve payment of your prescription.
In general, prescriptions of new medication are only given at proper office visits.
